My name is Murtala Mohammed Bandiya (Mr.), I was born on 1st August 1983 at Sokoto, Nigeria. I hail from Birnin Kebbi Local Government Area of Kebbi State, Nigeria. I obtained a bachelor’s degree (B.Sc.) in Sociology from Usman Danfodiyo University Sokoto in 2007 and a master’s degree (M.Sc.) in Sociology from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria in 2014. Currently, I am a master's student of Criminal Psychology at University of Portsmouth, United Kingdom. In 2011, I Joined the Nigeria Customs Service as Assistant Superintendent of Customs II and rose through the rank to my present rank Chief Superintendent of Customs in January 2022. I have worked at various customs formation, such as Border Commands, Sea Ports, Airport, Customs Training College, Training and Doctrine Command, and Customs Intelligence Unit. I have held various appointment and roles in the Service; These include Examination Officer, Exit Confirmation Officer, Personal Assistant to Comptroller Federal Operations Unit zone ‘B’, Research Assistant to Commandant Customs Training College Lagos, Special Assistant to Assistant Comptroller General of Customs Training and Coordination, and Customs Intelligence Officer. I have also participated in some ad hoc committees in the service such as Risk Management Committee, Recruitment Committee, Trainer/Resources person. Additionally, I have attended various courses, some of which are Customs intelligence Training, Nigeria Customs Integrated Report Interface System, Train the Trainer Course, Trade Facilitation, Criminal Intelligence Course organized by United Nation Center on Drugs and Crime and Junior Staff Course at Nigerian Armed Forces Command and Staff Collage. Amongst others.
